We come back from commercial after Kimbodo’s win. He’s in there with Maria. Kimbodo stepped away from Maria for a moment putting his hands up to his face then after he’d had his moment to collect himself came back to her and pulled Maria’s hand over to him, the mic resting in front of his face.
Kimbodo:
Maria, there are times for talkin’ and there’s times that you just gotta stand there and hold the mic and tonight is one of those times pal because Kimbodo’s got a lot to say tonight.
Everyone in the audience stood intensely focused on Kimbodo’s every word.
Kimbodo:
There are few things in this great sport that you can take to the bank, there’s few guarantees but for all of us, for every single man that’s stepped through these ropes and put their bodies on the line night after night they’ve all shared one hope just like I have, just like Icekid had. That hope that when it’s all said and done and time is called it’s you callin’ the shots; the hope that you go out on YOUR own terms; the hope that you hang your own boots up, that nobody hangs them up for you. At Allied Ritual, Icekid had that hope taken away.
Kimbodo pauses taking a deep breath as the crowd remain mostly silent hanging on everything that leaves Kimbodo’s mouth.
Kimbodo:
We come out here and we tell stories, we live our lives on screen fighting for the biggest prizes, the biggest purses, fighting to be the best and by the grace of God Icekid was trying to be the best in a wrestling ring with Kimbodo.
The crowd give a small cheer for Icekid but are more focused on what Kimbodo has to say.
Kimbodo:
ALL….. THIS…… FOR A BELT! I didn’t want it to come to this. I DIDN’T WANT THIS! You thought I was running but in the name of the good lord above I wasn’t afraid of you, only what we’d do to each other! Let me tell you all a story about Icekid. One man stood before you and I’ll remember every single word till the day I pack up and The Submission Master’s no more, only once has so much damage been caused by so few, and to find that source you need to go all the way back to when we first met. God dammit Icekid, why couldn’t ya take ya own advice? Just walk away, find something else to do, because the life you saved may have been your own, huh? You listening to me Icekid? ICEKID!!!
Kimbodo’s expression started to look angered but he collected himself, wiping a tear from his cheek as a picture was shown of a young fan in the crowd in tears. Kimbodo calmed himself, pulling Maria’ hand back in front of his face with the mic and started to speak slowly, softly, almost a deep whisper.
Kimbodo:
Now I stand here before the whole world and as I play it over and over in my head, the thoughts of what I’ve done, of the career that I’ve left in the hands of the Good lord above, one thing becomes clear to The Submission Master………………….. I’d do it all again!
Maria looked shocked and stepped away from Kimbodo, saying something to him that wasn’t audible with no microphone in his face, the fans gasping as Kimbodo pulled off his suit jacket and tossed it across the ring looking angry.
Kimbodo:
ICEKID!…….. YOU!…….. CAME!…….. UP!………..SHORT! MY World Title means more to me than you could ever understand Icekid! WOOOOOOOOOOO! BY GOD YOU DROPPED THE BALL PAL! The Submission Master’s still standing, I’m still the champ while you sit in your miserable hole nursing a broken knee!
Maria pulled the mic away from Kimbodo.
Maria:
Kimbodo have you lost your min-
Kimbodo:
YOU SHUT YOUR MOUTH, SHOW SOME RESPECT SISTER!!!! There’s a man in hospital with a broken knee right now………… AND I’M GONNA BREAK YOURS TOO!
Kimbodo lunged at Maria who ran away across the ring, slipping out through the ropes as quickly as her slim legs could carry her. On the outside Maria threw down the microphone in disgust and walked out backstage as Kimbodo went wild in the ring. He pulled out his cufflinks and threw them out at the crowd while he demanded someone handed him a mic. Eventually a ref at ringside nervously handed him one through the ropes as the crowd went crazy jeering the United World Champion.
Kimbodo:
I’m the submission master! KNEE BREAKIN’ son of a gun WOOOOOOOO! MARIA! You overweight piece of trash, the next time you step into the ring with The Submission Master you bring a wide ol’ kneebrace with you girl!
Kimbodo stomped around the ring letting out a big, gravelly sadistic WOOOO as he stared maniacally out at the fans.
Kimbodo:
Icekid if you’re watching this propped up in your little hospital bed you stepped up to the wrong man, you got in way over your head pal! MY World Title belt means more to me than life itself and I’ll break any knee I have to, to keep it around the waist of The Submission Master! Icekid you thought you could become a threat, you shoulda quit when you have the chance old man! Come on boy! Let ‘em all out here, you want a piece of me? I wouldn’t even let any of you back there carry The Submission Master’s bags and you think you can step up to the best?! You’re lookin’ at the World’s Greatest athlete boys, SOMEONE…COME…OUT! The broke-knee needs some company in the Emergency Room!
